AT Day 115: Bromley Mtn to Little Rock Pond
Daily Miles: 16.8, Total Miles: 1,677.9
Unexpected rain this morning but it didn’t last long. I left my memorable spot on top of Bromley Mountain, headed down to Mad Tom Notch Road and then right back up again to Styles Peak. I took a short break and enjoyed the views from a rocky outcrop. Got back on the trail and hiked down some distance before getting the feeling that something wasn’t quite right. Like maybe I’ve been here before. Yep, I was going down the same trail I had come up. Man, I’ve got to start paying more attention.

Definitely in moose country now – lots of droppings on the trail today. I entered Peru Peak Wilderness passing my Griffith Lake and then into Big Branch Wilderness.

Up and over Baker Mountain, crossed Big Branch Creek and followed tributaries all the way to Little Rock Pond. A large mountain pond with good shore access and adjacent shelter and tenting site. I had the whole place to myself. Tempted to go for a swim but still a bit cool.
New bird today: White-throated Sparrow.
