AT Day 121: Hanover NH & Moose Mtns

After a good sleep at the Norwich Inn, I walked back through Norwich VT and over the Connecticut River into Hanover NH. This is the home of Dartmouth College and this is graduation weekend. First customer at the post office, I picked up and packed up my resupply. A quick coffee and blueberry muffin at the grocery co-op and I was back in the woods on the trail.

A couple of good climbs today, first, Velvet Rocks and then South and North Moose Mountains. Heard some distant thunder today but no rain. I sadly lost by CDT bandana today that has been with me for so many hikes. Even walked back a half-mile but couldn’t find it.

I met Cosmos, a section-hiker, and Merlin again, a thru-hiker I first met in Massachusetts.

Rather than tackle another hill, I decided to take advantage of a campsite near a small stream.

New bird today: Common Yellowthroat.
