AT Day 122: Down to Lyme NH

The Barring Owls were hooting like crazy off and on all night early this morning. Misty morning, up and over Holt’s Ledge, no views today in a complete whiteout.

More AT wildlife

Got down to Grafton Turnpike, sparse traffic and no phone signal, so decided to walk the three miles into Lyme NH. I had previously made a reservation at Dowd’s Country Inn, the forecast for rain the rest of the day into tomorrow. Early to check in but the innkeeper did say that I could get started on washing my clothes. I didn’t have to be asked twice.

Walking into Lyme NH

Lyme is a small town but has a couple of inns, a general store, hardware store and two restaurants. Really nice people here, good dogs (5), and accommodations. Had a very tasty dinner of seared raw tuna over quinoa salad at Ariana’s, part of the Lyme Inn.
