AT Day 155: Nahkamanta Stream to Rainbow Lake
Daily Miles: 19.6, Total Miles: 2,173.2
This morning I followed the Nahkamata Stream and then Nahkamata Lake for six miles. Green mossy rocks, green mossy trees and pretty water views – but so hot and humid.

As I got closer to the lake, I unexpectedly smelled bacon and soon met Ben who came in on a logging road and camping, waiting for his southbound sister. Ben shared bacon and fruit, a wonderful, much appreciated second breakfast!

Another highlight of the day was hiking along the Rainbow Stream Cascades, a long series of scenic, cascading waterfalls. Could have been good pics as well but too many trees in the way.

Further along, the stream widened out and eventually became the large Rainbow Lake. Despite the beauty of the day, my energy levels were really down today. Heat, constant sweat, electrolytes probably out of balance. Gladly stopped and squeezed into a small space at the lake’s edge, rocky and sloping, I made it work. Great views across and along the lake.
