AT Day 85: Ankle Busting PA Rocks & Boulders
Daily Miles: 19.1, Total Miles: 1,213.6
Last night was the warmest so far. The clear skies last night made for good stargazing.

Not a lot of elevation gain today but tough going. I would guess 80 degrees with no wind, sunny skies and +80% humidity. Most of the day was spent awkwardly hopping from rock to rock down the trail or finding the best path through the ankle busting boulders and rocks. So happy there were a few good springs and creeks because I drank a lot of water.

I passed a few northbound hikers today including Trippy, who also hiked the southern half last year and back to finish this year.
Saw a wild turkey at a road crossing late in the day and later heard gobble gobble from my tent. I’m beat tonight and feel a bit fried. Quick dinner and off to bed – I mean pad and quilt.
New birds today: Wood Thrush, Yellow-rumped Warbler and a Scarlet Tanager.
