AT Day 86: Into Port Clinton PA

Another damn Whip-poor-will was circling my campsite between 2am and 3am this morning demanding an answer to his incessant call. I always seem to wake up early on a town day and this morning was no exception.

As usual, a lot of rocks and a steep downhill to the pretty Schuylkill River and Port Clinton.

I had arranged for a shuttle to the nearby Microtel in Hamburg PA. Early check-in was questionable so I washed my clothes and hung out in the lobby until the room was ready.

I had wings for dinner at the adjacent Pappy T’s Pub. Passed on Poker Night but may look in on karaoke tomorrow. Note that just about every establishment I have seen on this hike has a “Help Wanted” sign out.

New bird today: Hooded Warbler.
