AT Day 90: Rocky Trail to Wolf Rocks
Daily Miles: 22.3, Total Miles: 1,288.0
As I was packing up this morning, a couple of hunters walked by – opening day of turkey season. I saw no turkeys today but heard a lot of gunshots. Cloudy today and much cooler. Not a lot of viewpoints so focused on my foot placement through the rocky sections and ground the miles out. A good day for podcasts.

Another appreciated water cache at Smith Gap saved me a few detours looking for water sources. I called it quits at a tent site near Wolf Rocks and very close to a good spring. Good timing because it started raining as I set up my tent. Batten down the hatches, I think it’s going to rain for awhile. Another hiker came in at dusk, and despite other nearby tent sites, set up so close our tent guy lines are touching. Hope he doesn’t snore.
My new bird today is a Barred Owl, who just landed in a tree above my camp and started hooting. He got one far away response.
