AZT Day 16: Antelope Peak, Bees and Cactus
Daily miles: 19.4, Total Miles: 246.2
Antelope Peak was the landmark for much of the day.
Wildflowers and cactus blooms are plentiful – orange, yellow and purple dominate the landscape. Also, forests of cholla cactus. Parts of the cholla fall to the ground – if you step on them just right or hit it with your hiking pole, they have a tendency to jump up and embed in your appendages.

Filtered water at Beehive Tank, and yes, there were lots of bees.

Late in the day, the Freeman water cache was much appreciated – thanks to the providers!

Found a clear area for my tent just beyond Haydon Ranch Road. Met one hiker today out for the weekend.
