AZT Day 19: White Canyon Wilderness

The birds woke me up early this morning.

Took off on a steep, uphill jeep road heading west and then north through the gorgeous White Canyon Wilderness. The primitive road eventually hooked up with an old section of the AZT. A bit overgrown but very enjoyable trail up through canyonlands and buttes.

I had lunch where the trail connected with the current AZT and filtered more water at the Telegraph Canyon water trough.

Walked a few more miles and made an earlier stop than usual because my wife is not picking me up in Superior until later tomorrow.

Put the time to good use by laying out the sleeping pad, cranking up the iPod for the first time and reading a book. Warmer tonight so will probably just sleep in the bag liner on top of the bag.
