CDT: 3rd and Final Leg Plans
Took a few hikes and bike rides on the beaches and Mayan ruins of the Yucatan last month. Sampled some great new recipes for margaritas. All a reminder I must get more serious about getting ready for the CDT finish this summer. Not done yet – what’s next?

So the plan is to start up around mid-July where I left off at Henry’s Fork ID. I will cross Montana and finish at Waterton Park, Canada in early September, around 850 miles remaining.
But a lot to do before then. A trip to Death Valley NP in February for some camping and hiking. The same at Bryce Canyon NP in early June. Then up to Oregon and Washington for all that plus wine tasting and fishing before I get back on the CDT. I have to show Mrs. Haze some of my favorite stops on the PCT in the North Cascades, including a side trip to Stehekin. Unfortunately, probably too early to be a trail angel for the class of 2017.
My gear list will remain much the same. I did get some 2.75 oz Montbell camp slippers for Xmas that I’m looking forward to trying. I have never been able to justify camp shoes but think I can shave off 3 ounces to bring these!
