CDT Day 103: Buffalo Rivers & Two Ocean Pass
Daily Miles: 26.6, Total Miles: 1,785.9
Much of today was spent hiking through old burns and some were recent enough there wasn’t a lot of regrowth except for fireweed. I managed to cross Soda Creek and North Fork Buffalo River without getting my feet wet.

Followed the meandering North Fork through a wide valley for several miles before turning up Pacific Creek to Two Ocean Pass and Parting of the Waters where Two Ocean Creek splits into Pacific Creek flowing to the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Creek to the Atlantic Ocean.

Next, a very windy and smoky climb up and then down to Mink Creek. Judging by the plentiful bear scat, bears do like traveling on the CDT or at least pooping on it. I made even more noise than usual. Didn’t see any bears but did have two horses, with large bells around their necks, pass me on the trail. Where did they come from – I didn’t see any pack trains today or anyone else for that matter?
I decided to camp just past Mink Creek and surprisingly found a tent already there – and met Crocs, another NOBO CDT hiker. Too tired to go any further.
