CDT Day 106: Geysers, Hot Springs, Lakes
Daily Miles: 21.6, Total Miles: 1,853.7
Quite a fog over frosty Shoshone Lake this morning. I watched a herd of elk run in and out of the mist next to the lake. A beautiful but kind of eerie scene.
Had my own private show hiking through the Shoshone Geyser Basin with several geysers and boiling springs. I had hoped the wet, soggy meadows and creeks I had to wade across would be warm but no such luck.
Also had a nice walk along the crystal clear Firehole River with the occasional steaming hot spring along side.

I got into Old Faithful and picked up my last resupply box for this leg. Got some snacks at the general store and ate a bison burger at Old Faithful Inn.
Felt like a nap but needed to put in another ten miles to Summit Lake, my last reserved campsite in the park. Mixed with the tourists passing by Old Faithful geyser and the rest of the Upper Geyser Basin but soon was on my own again.

At Summit Lake, I enjoyed a colorful sunset on the lake and a celebratory Mountain Man scotch ale from Great Falls MT. Once again, the only one here tonight.
