CDT Day 115: Bannack Pass to Harkness Lake
Daily Miles: 25.6, Total Miles: 2,020.1
To make up for some lost time, I was on the trail by 6am. The topo was in my favor early on and I made good time to Bannock Pass. Shortly thereafter, I caught Sourdough (from Alaska) who left Lima a day ahead of me. He was just getting back on the trail after a long absence and was just hitting his stride.
We stopped for lunch at Deadman Lake and another lunch further on at Nicholia Creek.

Just after drying out my gear and packing up, the rain and hail started. We opted to hike through it and three hours later almost regretted the decision. Sourdough had a Golite umbrella which helped for awhile until the rain came sideways. I just had a light windbreaker which was pretty useless. My rain jacket should be waiting for me in Leadore.

The rain finally diminished and we reached some trees for cover, quickly making camp. Bordering on hypothermia, I quickly stripped down, put on my dry sleeping clothes, and jumped into my sleeping bag.

All in all, an exciting day and saw a large bull moose, some elk and an antelope. Passed eight hikers today going SOBO.
