CDT Day 123: Miner’s Lake to Slag-a-Melt Lake

My sons safely returned me back to Miner’s Lake – thanks again, boys, what a memorable fishing expedition!

The fire closure has just been lifted for this section and I am really happy I didn’t have to skip it.

North of Lena Lake

I didn’t get started until noon but made good time. Today reminded me a lot of the Sierras with several pretty lakes, brilliant flowers, talus slopes and craggy peaks. A cool, partly cloudy day with light rain in the afternoon kept things cool.

I ran into four SOBOs who just finished a difficult detour around the fire closure and had just rejoined the CDT.
