CDT Day 131: Slackpack out of Anaconda
Daily Miles: 11.8, Total Miles: 2,296.5
I was dreading this morning’s roadwalk from Anaconda out to where I left off yesterday at Twin Lakes Road. But at least a light pack with only water bottles. It turned out to be not that bad on a cool morning. Only a slight elevation gain, and most miles were on gravel roads that paralleled Highway 1.
Even better at the finish, I got picked up within five minutes by Connie, a painting contractor, returning from a job at Georgetown Lake.

Upon the return while walking through town, I was approached by an older gentleman. He asked me if I could use the $10 he offered me. Sometimes I forget what I must look like to others on the street – by the way, I graciously declined.
My feet are still recovering from a blister on the back of the heel I got on Day 1 of this leg. The healing process works best in a prone position, so I did my best of the rest of the day.
