CDT Day 146: A Stroll into East Glacier Park
Daily Miles: 8.3, Total Miles: 2,627.3
Had a brief thunderstorm last night with more wind than rain – nature’s air conditioning.
A bit more relaxed this morning after the long haul from Lincoln – even had two cups of coffee. I used the last of my toilet paper this morning – just love it when a plan comes together. Take no more than you need.
Much of the trail into East Glacier Park was spent wading through chest-high thimbleberry bushes. I grazed a bit but they’re messy – my fingers looked like they were bleeding.

Once in East Glacier, the first stop was the Whistle Stop for french toast stuffed with huckleberries and a side order of bacon and eggs. Got an early check-in at the motel and washed seven days of filth off my body, doing hiker chores and taking a short nap. I returned to the Whistle Stop for a pork and chicken BBQ dinner.
Now for two zero days because I’m ahead of schedule!
