CDT Day 148: Another Zero Day in East Glacier

I awoke to what I thought was someone weeding or gardening right outside my motel back door. Don’t know who was more surprised when I opened the door – me or the startled cow standing there looking at me.

I had breakfast at Brownie’s Bakery and then a stroll around the historic Glacier Park Lodge built in 1913. The Amtrak station is across the street so many visitors arrive by train just as they did in the old days.

I checked on status of forest fires I skirted by this week. There are many trails being closed and reroutes still being determined for parts of the CDT and Spotted Bear alternative. I got through just in time.

Otherwise, rested and ate and rested and ate. Heading out tomorrow to finish this thing!
