CDT Day 21: Dirt Roads & Cebolla Wilderness
Daily Miles: 29.4, Total Miles: 354.1
I slept well until the nearby roosters woke me up.
I got to the post office just before the official opening and picked up my resupply box and new shoes. My old LaSportiva’s were on last legs – Vibram soles and lugs shredded.

Headed north and walked a dirt road almost all day, leapfrogging with Track Meat, Apache and Kevin. Finally at the end of the day, turned east on a trail and entered the Cebolla Wilderness. I set up camp at the mouth of Armijo Canyon.

Filtering water I had collected from the last stock tank when Kevin came by and asked me if I had tasted the water yet. I did – definitely a pee aftertaste – so will try to make my remaining water last until the next water source tomorrow.
My isobutane canister ran out of fuel while making dinner so no more hot meals or coffee until Grants.
Windy all day with a thunderstorm brewing to the west at sunset.
