CDT Day 42: Summit Pass to Wolf Creek Pass
Daily Miles: 15.6, Total Miles: 724.2
A bit wet this morning after thundershowers blew sideways into my tent during the night.
Compared to the last two days, today was a nice walk in the woods. Still up and down, but a good trail. Flowers are starting to erupt in the lower elevations.

Wolf Creek ski area has grown since I skied there 35 years ago.

As I arrived at Wolf Creek Pass, I met a nice couple from New York. They said if I could fit in their Audi hatchback, they would give me a ride down to Pagosa Springs. I accepted the challenge and after some rearranging, I squeezed in. I was a bit worried when I saw their backup emergency brakes which consisted of a chunk of concrete cinder block and a short section of a 2×4. Once in Pagosa Springs, I needed help to extract myself from the backseat and cramping pretty bad but much appreciated!
