CDT Day 92: Bridger & the Cirque of Towers Alt
Daily Miles: 19.0, Total Miles: 1,594.7
I woke up to showers and quickly realized I had forgotten my light rain jacket from my days off. Oh well, I’ll have Mrs. Haze mail it to me.
All in all, a tough but spectacular day on the trail. Quickly passed pretty Blair Creek, the Sweetwater guard station and CG and soon after, entered the Bridger Wilderness. After four miles, I turned onto an alternative trail that will take me through the Cirque of Towers in the Wind River Range.

I followed Little Sandy Creek up through sheer canyon walls, spires and towers. After lunch, I had to throw the tent over my head for an hour, waiting for a squall to pass.

Finally at the headwaters, climbed up and over incredibly steep, rocky Temple Pass into more massive, sheer canyon walls and a beautiful chain of waterfalls and lakes.

Dark gray clouds chased me down to Big Sandy Lake where I camped for the night watching the rock walls glow in the sunset. So hard to describe the beauty of this day. Pics probably don’t do it justice either.
