CT Day 8: Slackpack from Copper Mountain
Daily Miles: 15.6, Total Miles: 119.4
The first bus of the morning got me to Copper Mountain by 7am. Just me and a section hiking couple that had the same bright idea for a slackpack. The Copper Mountain area has been much more developed since I passed through here in 2016.

A cloudy, misty, cool morning – just perfect for a 3,000 ft climb to 12,500 ft elevation. A bit steep in parts but overall a good trail. By the time I got to the top I was in the clouds with very limited visibility so no real photo ops.

Nothing to do but but go down the other side. A bit longer and gradual descent back to Highway 9 and the bus back to Frisco.

Only a five-minute wait however our trip back was delayed due to an irate, belligerent, older person mad at the world. He blockaded our bus when he was asked to leave and the police had to be called
Only a few light sprinkles near the end but now it looks to be a wet afternoon and evening. Maybe back early enough for a nap!
