DWTH Day 2: Down the Mountain & Across Town
Daily Miles: 17.0, Total Miles: 26.9
There was nearly a full moon last night so very bright inside my tent. The cooler temps made for good sleeping.
On the trail my 7am, a whitetail deer wandered across the trail on the way down to the Romero Pools. The pools were still holding water despite the lack of recent rain.

I soon started seeing earlybird day hikers coming up from Catalina State Park. On the lookout for a desert bighorn sighting but no luck.

Got water and used the facilities near the state park CG and continued down a wash to cross under Oracle Road.

The next 11 miles was on a nice bike trail along Canyon del Oro, not bad for urban hiking. I got off the trail once for some good Mexican food. Late in the afternoon I got to Ina Road, crossed I-10 and got a hotel. No good stealth camping spots.
The shower felt great and I was ready to put my feet up. They got a good workout and I’m feeling it. Too tired and lazy to go out for dinner and gladly settled for an extra trail meal I was packing.
