DWTH Day 31: Into Parker AZ

Another early start this morning to get to Parker.

Cool route today through canyons, washes, past spires, and up over passes along the Gibraltar Mountains. I finally crossed over an AZ 95 overpass down to the Colorado River and Bluewater Road. A nice finish to a long, but good session.

I hobbled to the Best Western on my battered feet and ankles, my oasis in the desert. Hot shower, washed clothes and had a tasty surf and turf dinner at the Crossroads restaurant. What a day, I think I’ll sleep well tonight.

I think I’ll be here for a few days as I badly need to order some new shoes. My little toes are better although with some weird callouses and I’ve got some pain in my heel, like a deep bone bruise, and my ankle tendons are tender. I certainly do not want to go through ankle surgery again.
