GET Day 11: To the Edge of Aravaipa Canyon

We had a fabulous five days in Charleston SC for my mother-in-law’s 85th birthday. It was made extra special by my sons’ families and 5 grandchildren, 3 months to 7 yrs old. Beach time, carriage tour of old city, southern cooking and lots of seafood and beer. Easily gained back everything I lost so far.

We drove out to Aravaipa Canyon today and I did the three-mile road walk from the ranger station to the west boundary of the wilderness area. Easy hike but toasty at 94 degrees.

We drove down the creek to Aravaipa Farms B & B, a beautiful spot on the creek with a good view of the canyon. Dip in the pool, bottle of red, grilled some steaks and enjoyed the sunset.

Mrs. Haze will join me tomorrow for the first 4 to 5 miles up the canyon.
