GET Day 13: Klondyke & Santa Teresa Range
Daily Miles: 24.2, Total Miles: 174.3
It was a nice day up Turkey Creek which flowed intermittently all the way up the canyon.

Exited onto a 4WD road climbing a ridge with impressive views of the Santa Teresa Range and upcoming Pinaleno Mountains.

I dropped into Four Mile Canyon and tanked up on water at the BLM campground and strolled into Klondyke. Took a few pics, said hello to some horses and headed east on Klondyke Road. I turned northeast into Buford and Road Canyons on a number of dirt roads.

After lunch, the easterly winds really picked up. Not bad as a tailwind but the crosswinds staggered me a few times. Good water at a few troughs and then started looking for a campsite as I returned to Klondyke Road. I tried to pitch the tent a few times but it was like flying a kite in the intense, gusty, now cold winds. A few choice words and I kept hoping the winds would diminish which they didn’t.

I reached Register Tank as light was fading – cowboy camped and hunkered down as the wind howled all night – skipped dinner as well so not much fun tonight.
One snake and no hikers seen today.
