GET Day 15: Clark Peak and the Swift Trail
Daily Miles: 14.8, Total Miles: 204.0
I had a restless night with almost total congestion – sinus issues or allergies. I’m not sure.
Lots of climbing today in rugged terrain with some overgrown trail. Both the Blue Jay Ridge and the Clark Peak Trail offered expansive views on a cool, clear day. Some bear scat on the Blue Jay but didn’t see anything.

Passed closely by Clark Peak and joined the Swift Trail, built by the CCC in the 1930’s.

Headed straight to Riggs Lake for some badly needed water.

Got a few more miles down the Swift Trail to Peters Flat. A nice, little creek here so far enough for me. Going to be cold tonight – spring hasn’t quite come to the high country.

Lungs got a real workout today with the vertical gain and high elevation, over 9,000 ft late in the day. Didn’t see any hikers today or vehicles for that matter.
