HDT Day 35: Park Wash to Hwy 89

Daily Miles: 19.7, Total Miles: 489.6

No rain last night!

A fairly easy day walking for several miles down Park Wash before picking up a dirt road along the wash. This all dumped into Kitchen Corral Wash and road that took me all the way to Highway 89.

I walked up the highway about a mile to a better hitching point where a car could actually pull over. I have no doubt drivers were wondering what I was doing in the middle of nowhere and how I even got there. Nevertheless, a truck did pull over about 30 minutes later and took me the 30+ miles to Kanab. Thanks Josh!

I got to the post office to pick up my resupply five minutes before they closed. Got checked into the motel and started hiker chores. Everything got pretty wet and muddy on this leg. The motel gave me their last room usually reserved for the handicapped. The way I was feeling, the extra handholds and bars came in handy.

I had just enough energy to hobble down to the Rocking V Cafe for a great steak and salad.

The skies were threatening all day but no rain.
