HDT Day 7: Lockhart to Rustler Canyon

Yes, earplugs allowed me to sleep a bit with the flapping tent. It also rained early this morning for a few hours.

I headed back out of the wash and got water at a seep – too alkaline to drink much. Back to Lockhart Road, I continued south between the canyons and bluffs. I had to find a few overhangs in the bluffs to escape rain and snow flurries. Hung my tent over my head for extra protection and warmth.

I rejoined the “official” HDT at the bottom of Lockhart Canyon and turned off Lockhart Road again at Rustler Canyon late in the afternoon. I got quite a few miles down and called it quits for the night. Good thing – rain and snow flurries weren’t over yet.

Two whole days without sunglasses!
