MRT Day 11: Into Pine Once Again

A hop, skip and jump and I was in Pine eating the Early Bird Special at the Early Bird Cafe. Breakfast served all day – same place I pigged out on the AZT. I had a nice chat with some AZT hikers at breakfast and later at the Ponderosa Market.

Mrs. Haze and Ellie, our black lab, came up and we’re staying at an Airbnb place. Perfect timing for a zero day tomorrow because the forecast is for rain and snow. One of my sons is arriving tomorrow and will join me on the next leg to Forest Lakes.

I had a huge burger and brew at THAT Brewery tonight. I remember sitting down with the owners when I passed through Pine in 2012. Just a restaurant then but they shared their scrapbook of all the breweries they had visited and plans for the new brewery.

An elk herd, all cows, has taken over the north end of Pine – they are all over the place.
