MRT Day 21: Bound for Show Low
Daily Miles: 9.9, Total Miles: 295.7
Another early start as usual on a town day. Only me and the noisy wild turkeys on the trail this morning.

First stop getting into Show Low was Walmart for a long drink of water and an isobutane canister. Then boarded the town bus for one dollar to downtown for the motel and post office.
I was able to get into my room early and got busy getting myself clothes and gear cleaned up. Don’t think I’ve ever backflushed so much gunk out of my Sawyer Squeeze. I retrieved my resupply box and new shoes from the post office. Mrs. Haze sent the new shoes early because the current pair have worn out much faster than usual. The first 200 miles of the MRT may be the rockiest tread I’ve experienced thus far on any trail, from sharp volcanic rock cutting the lugs off to seam splitting river rock and boulders.
I had a delicious NT strip carne asada at highly recommended Licano’s Mexican Food and Steakhouse. I’ll have to go back and try a margarita.
