MRT Day 8: Apache Maid Trail & Bell Trail
Daily Miles: 16.1, Total Miles: 105.8
A thunderstorm late last night put on a good light show and another quick shower.
I woke up to a couple of honking geese leaving the pond.

I took a combination of dirt roads and then the Apache Maid Trail on top of the Rim. Another six miles got me to the edge of the canyon for Wet Beaver Creek. Then a two-mile switchbacked descent to join Bell Trail and a short hike upstream to the Wet Beaver Creek crossing.

A gorgeous canyon setting with a nice perennial stream – perfect for lunch. A few youngsters just upstream were jumping off the canyon walls into a deep narrow pool. I was about their age when I made my first visit to this canyon.

Bell Trail took me up the south side of the canyon back to the Rim. I then headed southeast on dirt roads and trails across Roundup Basin before reaching my next water source and campsite, Fivemile Pass Tank #2. Obvious animal usage and somewhat silty, but plentiful.
