MRT: Progress?
We finally got some much needed moisture this week and even some snow! We essentially had no monsoon season last summer and this put us about 8 inches behind for the year. This storm will help but we need more. Even the cactus are in survival mode, shrinking and looking haggard but I think I detect a slight improvement.

I am still hopeful I can pull off the MRT hike this year. As is the case in most of the US, the vaccine supply and distribution are still question marks. Especially on timing. Mrs. Haze and I are volunteering next week at a vaccine shot drive at a local hospital. Who knows, maybe they will have some left over? We are both now in the 65+ category but that doesn’t seem to mean as much here as in some states.
I am finally in a training mode – daily walks and adding core workouts and bike rides on alternate days. I am planning a 2-3 day shakedown hike on local trails, mostly on the AZT in the Rincons and Catalinas.
Got most of my meals planned out and food purchased – big commitment there! My sons have settled on joining me for the Pine to Forest Lakes section – that will be fun!
