PCT Day 115: Mt Hood & Timberline Lodge
Daily Miles: 3.6, Total Miles: 2107.3
Only four miles uphill to Timberline Lodge with close views of Mt Hood.
Timberline Lodge was built by the WPA in the 1930’s and is quite the rustic lodge. The exterior of Timberline was used in the movie, The Shining.

Of all the entry doors to choose from, I somehow chose the one straight into the buffet, joined Prophet, Cleats and Side Project who had already started. The first plate was eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and watermelon.

The second plate was a huge waffle with berries, syrup and whipped cream.

I got hungry around 2pm so had a sausage and olive pizza followed by an exceptional dinner at the Cascade Dining Room. Beet salad, freshly caught halibut, and I think the finest berry cobbler I have eaten. I fortunately had reserved a bunk room for the night so I could sleep it off!
Had a nice chat with Beer and Ranch who arrived yesterday, and Iceman and Cattywampus who I hadn’t seen since Kersage Pass in the Sierras.
