PCT Day 135: Henry M. Jackson Wilderness
Daily Miles: 22.0, Total Miles: 2498.0
A bright and sunny morning!
I hitched a ride to Stevens Pass with a young man who was heading there to participate in a downhill mountain bike race. He has broken his wrists several times in these races – ouch!
The first part of the trail in the Henry M. Jackson Wilderness was relatively flat but badly overgrown making for a wet start. I gradually climbed to inviting Valhalla and then past Lake Janus up to near the top of Grizzly Peak.

On the descent, crossed some talus slopes with massive granite boulders to Wenatchee Pass, past Pear Lake and camped in a small meadows area near a creek.

I was joined a short while later by Iceman, Cattywampus and a few of their friends that are hiking with them for a few days. Later in the evening, Track Meat, Ole and Veggie pulled in and camped nearby.
Clouded up again late in the afternoon but no rain.
