PCT Day 139: Agnes River to Stehekin

Daily Miles: 9.7, Total Miles: 2580.2

A relatively easy hike this morning following the Agnes River and gorge downstream.

I entered North Cascades NP just before arriving at High Bridge over the Stehekin River – several bright red/orange salmon in the river below.

Caught the first shuttle bus from High Bridge – first stop was the Stehekin Ranch and the second stop was the Stehekin Bakery, another PCT legend.

I picked up a chicken pocket, a slice of pizza, a blackberry muffin and a huge cinnamon roll. The last stop was Stehekin Landing on Chelan Lake where I had reserved a room.

I got cleaned up and joined all the hikers in Stehekin for dinner at the lodge – Iceman & Cattywampus, Doublet & Gumby, Pie, Track Meat, Ole, Veggie and Wendy. we talked about our trail experiences, some hilarious stories and adventures.

I had another close call of losing my SPOT. While at High Bridge waiting for the shuttle bus, I left it on a rock to transmit an OK signal. I promptly got on the bus and left it there. Later I told the bus driver and he said if someone turned it in, he would leave it on the bus. I saw the bus driver later in the evening and someone had turned it in. Thank you, thank you!

Clear for the next few days but looks like rain at the finish line.
