PCT Day 140: North Cascades NP
Daily Miles: 14.1, Total Miles: 2594.3
Stehekin is still recovering and cleaning up from a rock and mudslide that flowed down a creek, jumped the bank and flowed down Main Street into the community. Even with this mess, what a beautiful setting by the lake. Saw the morning ferry come in and watched a float plane land and take off.

I had breakfast at the lodge with Wendy and then got ready for the last leg of this journey. Caught the 11:15am shuttle bus back to High Bridge but first another stop at the bakery for a ham & cheese sub and a delicious blueberry scone.
On the trail by 12:30pm, a fairly consistent, gentle climb most of the afternoon crossing several roaring creeks. Near one creek there were literally hundreds of half-inch frogs – a short while later, I saw a fat and I would guess happy snake.

I stopped for the night at Firewood Camp next to Bridge Creek, joined later by Track Meat, Ole and Veggie. Thanks to those who have signed by guest book – the words of encouragement and support have been most appreciated.
