PCT Day 50: Glenn Pass & Rae Lakes
Daily Miles: 4.6, Total Miles: 794.8
We couldn’t pass up another breakfast at Alabama Hills and then 5-Star and I caught a bus to Independence to pick up my re-supply box. Well worth the $3.50 charge.
Tough hitching a ride back to the TH so we bribed a young man to take four of us back to the TH for $10 apiece. Finally back on the trail and chugged back up to Kersage Pass.
Much cooler, strong winds and dark gray clouds forming.

Before we even got back to the PCT junction, it started to snow and visibility decreased. I put on the rain pants and rain jacket and kept going over Glenn Pass at 11,978 ft.

Hiked in a cloud for most of the ascent although the snowfall lessened.
We got in a good glissade down the other side of the pass and found a good campsite along one of the Rae Lakes. Still cloudy and cold tonight – need to dry out.
