PCT Day 54: John Muir Wilderness & Seldon Pass
Daily Miles: 25.4, Total Miles: 878.7
Last night in camp, a doe was showing a particular interest in me. She hung around the tent and following me down to the river when I got water. Really giving me the eye like she wanted to get to know me better. I found out what she really wanted this morning. My wet socks left on a rock to dry were all chewed up with several holes in each sock. The doe was the culprit and looked very guilty this morning.
Followed the South Fork San Joaquin River downstream, with whitewater and steep sections throwing off water spray and mist.

After a few miles, we started up Seldon Pass at 10,910 ft by way of pretty Sally Keyes Lake. While eating lunch at the pass, the same hiker from Muir Pass arrived wanting another naked photo shoot. This time only with her backpack on, a volunteer took her camera and obliged.

Headed down the pass and forded Bear Creek which can be dangerous in high snow years. Only up to my knees this year.

We climbed up Bear Ridge and then down to Mono Creek and a junction with a short trail that goes to Edison Lake. Set up camp because tomorrow we are taking a boat shuttle across the lake to Vermillion Valley Resort (VVR) for a little R&R!
