PCT Day 64: Zero Days in Bridgeport

A rare, double zero here in Bridgeport waiting for a wet weather system to move through.

I was coming back from the library this morning and ran into Will and Roadrunner who came down to Sonora Pass in nasty weather yesterday. They told me a hiker, suffering from hypothermia, was helped off the mountain yesterday. 5-Star had carried the hiker’s pack down.

I had another foodfest in Bridgeport. First up was Hayes Street Cafe for two eggs, bacon and a cinnamon roll that must have weighed a pound. Later I enjoyed a giant banana split at Jolly Kone.

I mailed my bear vault home, required in Yosemite but not anymore – extra, bulky three pounds. I will just have to be careful with cooking and food while on the trail.
