PCT Day 70: Tinker Knob & Donner Pass
Daily Miles: 14.7, Total Miles: 1159.0
I left the Tahoe views and cruised down and then up to Tinker Knob. The prominent peak was covered with fields of broad-leafed yellow flowers on it’s flanks.
I saw another bear on the way up, this one I assumed a big male, walking up towards the trail. He was swinging his head side to side grazing on the yellow flowers as he was walking. I snapped a few pics but gave him the “Hey Bear” warning as he got up on the trail. He stared at me and then slowly ambled down the trail in the direction I was supposed to be going. I gave him a big head start.

Got to the top, followed the crest of the ridge and eventually dropped down to Highway 40. Donner Pass at I-80 was only a few more miles.

As I got closer, I sensed I was being stalked by a wild animal but it was only Mrs. Haze trying to get a picture of me.

Back to Lake Tahoe and a wonderful reunion!
