PCT Day 72: Castle Pass
Daily Miles: 23.0, Total Miles: 1182.0
Mrs. Haze had to get to Reno for a flight but had to get me back to Donner Pass first. Minor crisis when a tire pressure warning light went on in the rental car. Only a slightly low tire so just kept an eye on it.
I was on the trail by 8:45am feeling a little rusty and sluggish. But after a few hours, everything fine except an aching ankle.
I crossed under the I-80 culverts, hiked to Castle Pass, then down to Sierra Club’s Peter Grubb Hut. The hut is closed and in need of extensive repairs.
Good water at White Rock Creek and then climbed again with good views of Sierra Buttes.

Found a nice campsite on a saddle before dropping down to Lasier Meadows.

I thought I would be meeting all new thru-hikers but great minds think alike. I first saw Karma and then Sundog and Giggles, whom I last saw leaving Tuolumne Meadows.
Mrs. Haze left a message that her first leg to San Francisco was cancelled due to an Asiana Airlines crash closing the airport. Hope nothing serious.
