PCT Day 8: Warner Springs & On
Daily Miles: 19.0, Total Miles: 115.0
A few hikers came by my camp last night hiking to a full moon. I think I’ll save it for the real desert.
I headed down the mountain to Barrel Spring to top off my water bottles. On the way, I saw a fox that looked to be inspecting a campsite. Took the short detour to Eagle Rock and had lunch – I have seen so many pics of this place but still an impressive natural likeness.

Next stop Warner Springs – disappointed about the resort closing this year but the Resource Center was much appreciated. Rides were being offered but I opted not to go back to the PCT Kickoff and headed out late in the afternoon.

I hiked up Agua Caliente Creek and saw a couple of deer bedded down under an oak tree.

I camped at a nice shady spot near the creek but had to be careful of poison oak! Drifted off to a babbling brook and hooting howl.
