DWTH Day 39: Mohave Wilderness

The transport service was on time to the hotel this morning and got me back out to the Chevron station at Fenner. I was greeted by the store clerk like a long lost friend.

With the recent weather advisory this morning, I opted to take a more direct route across the Mohave Wilderness towards Hole in the Wall rather than the DWTH up into the Fenner Hills. My route was a combination of primitive roads and x-country.

The wind was really picking up by the time I was ready to find a campsite at dusk. The fast moving clouds coming in made for a beautiful sunset against the backdrop of the upcoming Providence Mountains to the west.

Erecting the tent in the wash was a real challenge tonight as I tried to keep it from sailing away. I reinforced my wimpy tent stakes with the biggest rocks I could find.

As usual, all by myself today, no vehicles or hikers.
